Ch 8 PC 1 Starting out with Java from Control Structures through objects:

Area Class:

Write a project that has three overloaded static methods for calculating the areas of the following geometric shapes:

Circles

rectangles

cylinders

Here are the formulas for calculating the area of shapes. Circle: Area = pi*r2

                                                                                                       Rectangle: area=width*length

                                                                                                       Area of a cylinder: Area = pi*r2*h     (r2 is radius squared)

Because the three methods are to be overloaded, they should each have the same name, but different parameter list. Demonstrate the class in a complete program

I have the majority of the program written out, i am having trouble with the portion that requires the methods to have the same name but different parameter lists

class AreaClass
{
static final double pi = Math.PI;
//Circle method calculates area of a circle
//@return area of circle
static double Area(double radius)
{
return pi * radius * radius;
}…
