My name is Mike Hummel, and I am pursuing my PhD in Business Administration, with a specialization in International Business. I completed my BAS and Master of Arts in Management, and went on to complete my Master of Business Administration. I am working toward the PhD to be able to teach Masters and Doctorate level courses. In addition, I recently took a job with Zodiac Aerospace, a conglomerate of aerospace companies with offices all over the world (104 offices in 40 countries). Professionally, I have been all over the map, both around the globe and around many different businesses. I have worked in 16 different countries on 4 different continents. I worked on aircraft from the age of 15, primarily focused on avionics (aviation electronics). At age 19, I went into the Air Force and served 9 years there, still in the avionics field, but also adding ground radar to the mix. I went back to the civilian airports and worked for four years as an Avionics Lead and as an Avionics Manager. Following an accident that prevents me from doing aircraft maintenance, I have moved into technical writing and program management. While this is the highest degree I can achieve, I hope it will not be my last. If I can afford it, I will be a professional student.
