(solution) -Read the problem situations 1 and 2 below and develop (list)

this is an assignment i’m having some problems with for an engineering project management course. it is in the attached file.

-Read the problem situations 1 and 2 below and develop (list) tasks and subtasks for each
problem. List at least 5 tasks (can be more) and their associated subtasks for these problems.
Label the tasks as Task 1, Task 2, etc., and the subtasks as Task 1.1, Task 1.2, etc., and the
subsubtasks, if any, as Task 1.1.1, Task 1.1.2, etc. Make sure that each task/subtask is an
?activity? related to the particular problem, does not overlap with other tasks/subtasks, is
measurable in terms of progress, can have specific duration and definite outcomes, and is
assignable to one or more people for performing it. Do not list tasks with only one subtask, in
which case the subtask is not really needed. Indent the subtasks under each task.
Note that for each problem you need a task or two in the beginning on analyzing the problem,
defining the requirements, scoping and planning the project, etc., and similarly, each problem
needs a task or two at the end to document and report the project results and deliverables, and
transfer the project to the client. You need not know a lot about the problem situations to develop
high level tasks and subtasks, and if you have any questions about the problems, you can post
your questions on the Discussion Board.
1. Your department is in charge of planning and coordinating next spring?s sales management
training program for your company that markets consumer goods. The company has many
offices and the training program should be offered at a location desirable for many of the
offices located in different parts of the country. This will include (but not limited to) planning
the topics for the training program, arranging speakers and their travel, identifying a meeting
location and arranging everyone?s stay, informing the various offices of the company about
the training program, handling all the details, etc. Your department has been asked to prepare
a proposal for this and present it to the manager.
2. You are a member of an honor society and you want students to take pride in the Engineering
Building (EB) and keep classrooms, labs, and others areas clean and learner- friendly. You
want to propose a project ?Be Proud of EB? to the honor society to publicize, organize, and
implement a campaign to motivate students to keep EB clean and friendly. You want to
prepare a proposal to share with the officers of the honor society.
3. Given the following project data (a) Construct a Gantt chart. When will the last task be
completed? (b) Construct charts of weekly and cumulative direct expenses. You can draw the
charts by hand or using Excel or Word Charts but if you use Excel or Word Charts, do not
submit this problem alone electronically. Submit all the problems together as a hardcopy.

4. For the problems given below, draw the AON and AOA diagrams. For the AOA diagrams,
indicate on the arcs the corresponding AON labels so that it is easy to check and give
feedback. For example, in the AOA diagram for problem (a), indicate A on the line connecting nodes 1 and 2 to show that it is same as node A on the corresponding AON
diagram. Otherwise, the problem cannot be graded.
